Lesley-Ann Brandt will not appear in the upcoming second season of Spartacus: Blood and Sand. The actress portrayed Naevia in the series, a part that will now be re-cast. Naevia is a slave to Lucy Lawless' Lucretia character, and the lover of Manu Bennett's character, Crixus.

The actress decided not to renew her contract for the Starz program. She also appears in the prequel series Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, which premiered last month. Lesley-Ann Brandt recently landed a recurring role on CSI: NY and is also auditioning for roles on upcoming pilots.

We reported a month ago that Liam McIntyre is the new Spartacus on the series, replacing Andy Whitfield, who had to bow out to undergo cancer treatments.

Spartacus: Blood and Sand will start production on Season 2 in the very near future.

@dan1 yeah because Spartacus ends up dying after awhile so they're going to drag out the show as long as possible

he's probably going to try and build his arm before he conquests everything. i bet he'll go ludis by ludis and either freeing the gladiators or have them join him

And umm... they escaped the House of Batiatus at the end of season 1, so.... are they going to cover Spartacus's conquests now? Cuz the whole gladiator thing is kinda over now. The house politics, etc. is kinda done with. I'm curious if they'll move on from that direction the show had and become more epic and expanded, or try to keep that gladiator element and feel tired.

I doubt it was due to the nudity lol... other factors such as higher paying gigs and things of that nature prob occurred. She's not all that vital to the show for me anyways.
