After starring as Ripley in the sci-fi classic Alien and its three sequels Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection, actress Sigourney Weaver revealed over the weekend that she hopes a fifth installment will happen some day. Here's what the actress had to say during a Q&A at the Hero Complex Film Festival over the weekend, after a screening of the original Alien.

"Had we done a fifth one, I don't doubt that her humanity would have prevailed...I do feel like there is more story to tell."

She also added that she didn't think Alien 5 should be set on Earth, with the Alien, "popping out of a haystack (in the) French countryside." The actress says that she wants to give the fans what they really want, to finish the story.

"I feel a longing from fans for the story to be finished. I could imagine a situation where we finish telling the story."

She also shared one of her favorite moments from Alien, the "chest-bursting scene" with John Hurt.

"We forgot that we were making a movie. It was so real to us and convincing. I can't believe two guys got under a table and made that happen."

Sigourney Weaver also paid tribute to the late H.R. Giger, whose work served as the inspiration for Alien, while adding that the politics and corporate greed displayed in the 1979 classic are still relevant today.

"A lot of corporations are still characterized by the same kind of greed [as the film's Weyland-Yutani]. It's an idea that's, unfortunately, very alive in our world."

As of now, no plans have been confirmed for Alien 5, with director Ridley Scott currently developing Prometheus 2, a sequel to his 2012 Alien prequel Prometheus. Would you much rather see Alien 5 instead of Prometheus 2? Chime in with your thoughts below.
