Seth Rogen and actor/writer Ben Schwartz are teaming up with director Adam McKay for an untitled comedy project.

Good Universe, Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions and Seth Rogen's Point Grey Pictures have preemptively bought a pitch from Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation, House of Lies), who will write the screenplay and star alongside Seth Rogen. No plot details were released at this time.

Adam McKay will direct, with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver producing through their Point Grey Productions company, alongside Gary Sanchez's Adam McKay, Will Ferrell and Kevin J. Messick. Good Universe's Nathan Kahane and Joseph Drake are executive producing.

Here's what director Adam McKay had to say in a statement.

"Evan and Seth have been doing amazing things and we're so excited to work with them. Ben, not so much. Most of my problems with him are personal ones, but I have to give it up ... he did come up with a great idea."

Seth Rogen had this to say in his statement.

"Every two thousand years the planets of our galaxy align in a perfect line that funnels the cosmic energies of the universe to flow into one perfect comedic collaboration. The time is now. This is that project. Nothing will ever be the same."

Evan Goldberg also offered his own statement.

"McKay and Schwartz are reeeeeeal smart, well-endowed guys and we couldn't be more excited to be working with them."

No production schedule was given. Seth Rogen most recently starred in Neighbors, and he will next be seen in The Interview, which he also co-wrote and co-directed with Evan Goldberg.
