i also remember not liking the sequel as a kid.
thanks for the heads up on the original being a letdown, im gonna watch it anyway.
maybe i'll just roll an extra joint to make sure i can, at least, laugh with it.

also, i would like to add, despite the beloved Captain Murphy's obsession with Adrienne Barbeau, i always found her to be aesthetically repulsive, although i won't pretend i didn't think the idea of the Adrienne Barbeaubot was a strike of genius.

@Err :hope i am not bursting your excitement but i too love the first as a kid, as an adult, it was a letdown.

the second film i remember seeing on the front cover of the magazine Comics Scene in 1989 along with articles about batman, and the punisher, and a proposed watchmen film. the costume for the swamp thing was much more improved with the second feature but as soon as i popped it in on vhs, was horrified, or just didnt get it i guess, it almost seemed satirical.

a reboot of this is well needed, with so many superheros in todays cinema, this unlikely choice would be a fresh change of pace for a film. i agree that i would like to see it happen, but will wait until more info is out before i get too excited.

I liked the one with Adrienne Barbeau in it, I think it was 82' but I have a feeling this one will be much better.
