I find it sad and pointless to see how many haters there r in this world. You guys r like abunch of old timers who still live in the past , Englund Is a legend and always will b an icon who brought us Freddy Krueger. but things dont last forever, u know?! Its time you moved on to awhole new level of terror with new blood, actors, and much better understanding of his story that we didnt get to see or know back then. You know wat ur kids r gonna say if they sw this movie 1st?, they r gonna say "OMG DAD, THIS MOVIE WAS SCARY!!" while u sit there going, "NO ITS NOT, THE OLD1 WAS BETTER" ... that because u grew up in the past, and they never saw wat we grew up with. so today's teens like today's stuff than yesturday's. but most of u dont seem to move on. so thats ur personal issue if u cant deal w it. This remake was good and i look forward to seeing more of this guy or better freddy movies than the 80s...

Like this fella. Liked him in Watchmen. Laugh at people who think the first Hills films were outstanding as well as the first Nightmare films. They weren't. Common denominator, Mr Craven. Come up with the Ideas then step back. ie the booby trap setting sequence where she sets up all that sh*t and falls asleep all inside 20 minutes. Chronology was total pants. Still waiting to see this and I know its going to be better than the original, and I bought the box set.

Hey @thedude1. Here's an idea you haven't thought of, jackass: DONT REMAKE ANYTHING

Come up with new ideas. Stop rehashing what was good 20 years ago. Don't defend remakes. You look stupid.

The remake sucked. Jackie's a great actor, but he's not right for the role. Too short and not an intimidating figure.

Hey @ Aeneas142 That's not entirely true. I really loved the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake with Jessica Biel. I thought Ryan Reynolds' Abs looked really good in AMITYVILLE HORROR. I liked the old school bus scene in the FRIDAY THE 13th remake. And I liked the Pied Piper idea they brought up and then immediately discarded in NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST. So there Nah na nah na nah na.

@bluedevil I like the remake! I am a fan of the old Freddy movies. I grew up with them and the remake was actually good. Stop hating on the film. You just only like the originals. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

The remake was unnecessay and pointless. The only thing good about it was that it got Clancy Brown another paycheck. " THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!!!!" " ANOTHER TIME, MACLEOD! "

I'm not comparing this to the original, it was a horrible film. In my opinion there should be no sequel, there was not one suspensful or scary moment in this remake. I was in shock at how lame it turned out to be.

Wow. Gotta say kudos @JasonKat. I agree for the most part. Out with thee old. Englund was amazing no doubt, but we all have to face the music, JEH is Freddy. Hollywood will only have one to three fresh ideas a year, other than that, remakes and reboots. We all have to deal with it. I was just okay with 2010 Freddy. It concentrated more on the gore than anything. There will be five more new faces playing freddy as well too im sure. Hell, Hulk is going through it, now Spiderman and just watch, all of you who said The Joker died with Heath( God Rest His Soul), there will be a new Joker in like five years. So we all have to deal. But, oh well, bring on the sequel. I have nothing better to do. Lol

Alot of you are still stuck in the past. GET OVER IT. Its time you moved on to somthing new, fresh and bold. Yes the 80s were awsome and nothing could ever replace those days, those moments, those movies. those good times all of us had. But we are in 2010 now, not 1980 or 85. Alot of you are never gonna like remakes or reboots because you have the past in ur head, in ur hearts, Its understandable but seriouily Deal w it. This guy is our new freddy, its all up to him or the director to bring us awhole new lineup of freddy movies. so stop comparing the old w the new and start liking the future..

    @The Dude1
I grasp your point and clearly agree and so does Englund his is getting old and the scenes were too much for him and he said that was why FVJ took long to finish production because he got tired really quick...
I'm a massive die hard Nightmare fan, i've outline a pre-sequel treatment for the Nightmare franchise and the original Nightmare on Elm Street was the first horror i watched when i was 4, and even to this day its still my fav film of all time.
I never wanted another installment or a remake/reboot.....What i wanted as a diehard Nightmare fan and sincerly in my opinion, you aint a die hard Nightmare fan if you disagree...Which is....Jackie Earle Hayley in a Nightmare Prequel as the Springwood Slahser...

But you see the problem is many people, especially fans dont like change and some refuse to accept it

    5 years agoby @jayaottleyFlag

  20. TheDude1

@jayaottley For some reason some of the diehard fans would rather see another not so good sequel to the original series than a remake. Which makes no sense. What people have to understand is that Robert Englund(who is just a perfect actor and knows a lot about movies) is getting older. How many more Freddy movies could they have actually done with him? Probably 2 at the most. If that would have happened we would still have people on here like Brian complaining. So in the end you really can't please everyone.

F*cking hell. This dude needs to do dramas like "Little Children" (Oscaaaaaar nooooooooood). Not garbage like this.

  22. Jay.A.Ottley

I get your point, you enjoy it cause its Freddy. As well as @Brian i 'll get urs in a bit....I have yet to see the remake, gonna watch it in a bit,

I got tickets to a special screening and unfortunatly couldn't go due to other business matters at hand....
Now this special screening showed the remake and the original back to back in the cinema.....People fell asleep in through the remake and cheered waking up to the original i think that says something for hardcore freddy fans, cause halve the theatre was dressed as Kruger...

JEH pulled it off as human kruger, not monter kruger

The remake overall was a mistake.....Prequel is what should have happened

Okay, I don't want to offend anyone, and I will catch it when it comes to DVD... just can't get over the fact that he looks like a burnt down's syndrome patient. Again, sorry if I offend anyone, but that's what I see when I look at the remade Freddy. Well, that and I keep thinking of The Family Guy... "and my mother's the former Gov of Alaska." New and improved Freddy??? Not so much. And the cast built by the WB channel really turned me off of this from the start. @TheDude1 ... I will watch and give it a shot... I got Netflix, so won't cost me but a quarter to download and watch through the PS3.

no comment on that last comment, but I have troubling news to tell you. For the people that liked the reboot it'll be good news for them, for the people that hated the reboot I have bad news.

I might see it when it comes on DVD.

Didn't see the remake but loved the original. I liked JEH in the Watchmen and he's great in Human Target but didn't think he would work as well in this role and I guess I was right. Freddy belongs to Mr. Englund.
