‘Scary Movie 5’ Release Gets Pushed One Week

Director Malcolm D. Lee’s spoof comedy will now square off against ‘The Evil Dead’ remake on April 12, 2013.

Dimension Films has moved the release date for Scary Movie 5, pushing the spoof up one week to April 12, 2013. Malcolm D. Lee's comedy will now face off against the horror remake The Evil Dead, and Warner Bros.' sports drama 42. The Tom Cruise action-thriller Oblivion will debut exclusively in the IMAX format April 12, 2013 before opening nationwide April 19, 2013.

Scary Movie 5 stars Ashley Tisdale and Erica Ash as two best friends vying for the lead role in an upcoming musical. Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Terry Crews, Marisa Saks, Simon Rex, Molly Shannon, Audrina Patridge, and Mike Tyson also star.

Malcolm D. Lee is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with David Zucker. Production is currently under way in Atlanta, Georgia.

Scary Movie V was released April 12th, 2013 and stars Ashley Tisdale, Simon Rex, Erica Ash, Katt Williams, Gracie Whitton, Lidia Porto, Charlie Sheen, Katrina Bowden. The film is directed by Malcolm D. Lee.
