Robin Williams is in negotiations to reprise his role as Teddy Roosevelt in Night at the Museum 3. He played the American president in 2006's Night at the Museum and the 2009 sequel Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.

Ben Stiller is also returning to star as museum security guard Larry Daley. We reported in September that production is beginning in February 2014 in London and Vancouver. The sequel is set in London as well, which may take advantage of the Natural History Museum or other historical facilities, although no story details have been confirmed.

Shawn Levy is directing, although it still isn't known who is providing the screenplay. Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant wrote the first two movies and, while they hinted that they were writing the sequel back in 2010, neither writer has been confirmed as of yet.

It also isn't known if other actors from the first two films, such as Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Christopher Guest and Bill Hader will return yet.

Robin Williams most recently starred in The Big Wedding and Lee Daniels' the Butler. He can also be seen on the first-year CBS sitcom The Crazy Ones.

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb comes to theaters December 19th, 2014 and stars Robin Williams, Ben Stiller, Rebel Wilson, Owen Wilson, Rami Malek, Ben Kingsley, Dick Van Dyke, Ricky Gervais. The film is directed by Shawn Levy.

@tomp1210 it's funny that you mentioned that film, I met that director last year, he's a friendly person.
I've seen the first film of this and thought it was good but not great.

I've never seen any of these movies, but it's gotta be better than his rendition of Dwight D. Eisenhower in The Butler.

I like the first movie when it came out, then the second movie came out and it sucked. I don't think we really need a 'Night at the Museum 3' at all.

Still hoping that they do Madame Tussauds - I remember in "The Indian in the Cupboard" when all his toys came to life - and vader was fighting off a t-rex, ha. They could do tonnes of cool stuff - I remember they had a Chris Reeves Superman in the exhibition when I went, but that might be too weird, it just opens a lot of doors for the movie.
