The greatest sequel of all time is a bit light on Extras but this Blu-Ray re-release offers a much needed upgrade to the film's video and audio qualities.Almost all of the cast of the 1972 classic The Godfather return to continue the story of Michael Corleone's rise to power. The story takes place seven years after the first. Cuba, Vegas, and M...more

Ti West's horror masterpiece is a breath of fresh air that manages to bring back the fun and excitement of being frightened at the movies. Its not just a homage to 80's flicks, it is an 80's flick.Horror, no matter how you look at it, was always about being scary rather than gory. Sure one or two films are able to pull of both but after awhile it just gets pretty damn boring. None of ou...more

The Open Road is not really one worth traveling down. While there is a stellar cast who deliver nice performances, the story is definitely not the road less-traveled, full of unoriginality, ambiguity and loose ends aplenty.I kind of feel bad for Justin Timberlake, well as bad as I can feel for a guy who is loved the world over and could probably buy a small country if he wanted to. He hasn’t had quite the best...more

Amelia sheds a lot of historical light on this powerful historical figure and while this film is a beauty to behold for the eye, and it is rather informative, some serious story issues prevent it from being very entertaining.Hilary Swank has what seems to be a five year plan for Oscar relevance. She shot to national acclaim with her first Oscar-winning role in Boys Don’t Cry and, naturally, worked steadily in so...more

If you don't get your head wrapped around the plausibility of the actions in this film, then you should have a pretty damn good time with this slick thriller.A terrific thriller that does a fantastic job of raising the stakes of both the plot and the action throughout the film....more

Three great performances in search of a better movie; this is what happens to A-list actors during a recession. The script is riddled with mob-action cliches, but our headlining trio seems to be having fun. It’s hard to feel anything but sad while watching the once legendary Oscar winning actor Cub Gooding Jr. slog through another mediocre Z grade shelf dweller. Until you remember the poor man’s...more

Ang Lee wows again with another finely tuned drama that transports as well as entertains. Why hasn't this movie ever been made before now? And why didn't it get more attention when it was released?Though fictionalized, this story of how Woodstock came together in a farmer’s backyard is both entertaining and insightful. Demetri Martin proves he’s more than just a comedian with a strong...more

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard is a comedy for the ages. It pisses all over political correctness and beats the hell out of your funny bone at the same time.(Reviewer’s Note: I’m still pretty damn sad and confused why more people didn’t like this balls-out hilarious flick. Given that the weekend that I saw this flick during was bar-none the ...more

With just the right amount of camp and old-school scares, this is a throwback to the days of horror movies that were not only actually scary, but actually tons of fun as well and Drag Me to Hell delivers both the scares and laughs in spades. To be perfectly honest, I was a little surprised that I was hearing so many raves about Sam Raimi’s return to horror, Drag Me to Hell. Sure, it looked like a decent horror film, but there’...more

Sometimes creepy and a little perverted, this 80s-era sitcom has stood the harsh test of time. Somewhat over-looked throughout the years, Small Wonder is a treat to rediscover on DVD. It's as infectious as any old pop tune from the Fifties. The show's unique premise brought a lot of new and interesting stories that had never been run through a traditional sitcom before. The cast seems to be having a lot of fun, and Tiffany Brissette is c...more

Sam Raimi returns to his horror roots for a harrowing spook show that is guaranteed to become a neo-classic in the genre. Fast paced and full of gross-out moments, Drag Me To Hell is great, fantastic, scary fun!The scares on display fit in perfectly with Raimi’s work on The Evil Dead trilogy. It skips from one iconic moment to the next, bounding about in a gleeful spray of blood and goo. Actress Lorn...more

An odd, observational comedy that acts as a live-action commentary on Sid & Marty Kroffts' original Saturday morning TV series. Its Will Ferrell and Dinosaurs. You'll either worship it or hate it. Either way, it's a cult classic in the waiting.Danny McBride has perfectly captured Wesley’s stance, and Anna Friel makes for one fetching Holly. But its Will Ferrell’s stumbling scientist Dr. Rick Marshall that makes this film fly high....more
