The things I liked in I Am Number Four, I liked a lot, while the same could be said for the things I disliked. The result is an average-to-decent movie that could have been so much better.I have been a fan of director D.J. Caruso since his first feature, the wonderful and sadly underseen/underrated drama The Salton Sea. I really enjoyed his last feature, Eagle Eye, which was a ...more

The film isn’t mind-blowing and it has its fair share of corny moments, but they’re minimized quite a bit compared to most chick flicks and it’s even a flick a guy can enjoy on some level.Marvelous performances from Michelle Pfiefer, Paul Rudd and youngster Saoirse Ronan and a pretty likeable story for both sexes....more

Some of his scenes are so awkwardly painful to watch I actually grimaced and turned away at some of the things he says and does...I Love You, Man was released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 11 and is sure to spark another round of people shouting "Totes McGotes!" and "Slappin' da bass!" It is a movie about guys, but it does not weed out its demographic by throwing out misogynistic humor. What I really aimed for with this review was completing it without using the new term "bromance". But as you can see, I've already failed. It is truly a wonder how I would have pulled off such...more
