A wretched stretch of painful sight gags that is only saved by the brawny performances of Jason Bateman and Leslie Mann. They deserve better. We, on other hand, deserve what we get if we decide to buy a ticket to this torture chamber sonnet.Fans of Jason Bateman's earliest work on Silver Spoons, and especially It's Your Move, will remember a diamond sapphire douche of a kid with electric timing and an edge that had yet to be explored on ...more

Bond & Jones reunite in the Old West to show some Aliens who's boss around their parts.Based on the 2006 graphic novel by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, director Jon Favreau molds his own version which headlines the return of a three decade old American Legend, and a fifty-eight year old Bri...more

It might not be as great as last year's Inception, or smart for that matter, but this is definitely the first film of 2011 that takes your brain and allows you to theorize everything in the end.Another Earth is a deep exploration of both life and science. The film is a dry drama but with so much taste that only your view on the film can make it either a masterpiece or a simple movie. If you ...more

James Bond and Indiana Jones team up to fight aliens in the old West. Should be pretty badass...right?*Spoilers The answer to the above question is yes...to an extent. Cowboys and Aliens IS pretty badass to a certain degree, but it's not the kind of "wow" entertainment I've seen in other f...more

An unfocused collection of relationships that deserve better movies. This is what happens when filmmakers don't have a clear focus. Crazy, Stupid, Love starts out being about one thing, switches midway through to focusing on another thing, and then when it tries to end...more

Genre mash-ups are always a fun-time! Cowboys and Aliens may ignore just about everything from the graphic-novel, but even as a fan of that I still didn't walk out fully disappointed with this adaptation! One of the biggest summer anticipations has finally arrived and it has come full circle, ladies and gentlemen! Since 2006 when the graphic-novel was released, all I've wanted was a movie adaptation to...more

Will somebody please stand up and give me some different aliens. The summer of 2011 continues to fizzle with Jon Favreau's well-intentioned, but surprisingly boring Cowboys & Aliens. What starts off as a promising adventure flick quickly denigrates into a humdrum s...more

Who ever thought old-fashioned would seem fresh? Why is Captain America called "The First Avenger"? I suppose it's because he was born first. Nevertheless, this fourth (*groan*) big-screen superhero flick of the summer hardly capitalizes on its dire...more

Are we sure the U.S. War Department didn't make this film?At first, I thought that setting this film in the age it was introduced in with a plot pertaining to the reason the comic came about at all would be great. While that's still true, it seemed they took...more

With it's sepia-toned imagery, hazy outskirts, and perfect art-direction, Captain America: The First Avenger is an absolutely beautiful movie to look at!In March of 1941, it all began with a comic-book issue that featured a front-cover of a man in red, white, and blue tights punching Adolph Hitler square in the face. Seventy years later, we know him a...more

Out of all the animations this year so far, Winnie the Pooh is definitely the cutest! The last time we were given an on-screen Winnie the Pooh adventure was back in 2005 with "Pooh's Heffalump Movie", and that wasn't really the greatest tale from our loveable storybook characters. A go...more
