"Slow-ass thriller"
What's with the praise for this film?? Left and right all I've been hearing were good stuffs about it when I couldn't even stay awake through he first hour of this boring self-proclaimed thriller. It just seems too... familiar. All the while I was watching George Clooney's character Michael Clayton, I couldn't help but remember Paul Newman's washed up character, brilliant performance, in the classic film The Verdict. What is it that the movie MICHAEL CLAYTON'S got that other legal, taking on corporate America thrillers don't have?
Maybe because my expectations were too high and so I got disappointed. MICHAEL CLAYTON is by far one of the most well-acted movies of the year. If I had Oscar statuettes in my hand right now, I'd hand it over in an instant to Tom Wilkinson and Tilda Swinson, who by the way is perfect at playing a total b$#@h, just like she did in 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe'
I gotta warn you though, if you want to watch this film, you better prepare your mind to pay attention and think critically otherwise you'll find this movie to be very slow-paced and downright boring. If I were you, I wouldn't wanna watch it twice, unless you're a law student in need of entertainment.
