THE SOLOIST (2009)

"Powerful and Inspiring"

THE SOLOIST is movie that features music, friendship, and drama. The film has two talented actors featuring Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx. The story is what I loved of the film.

STORY:

Los Angeles Times colonist Steve Lopez met a homeless man named Nathaniel Ayers Jr. in 2005. During Nathaniel's early life, he went to Juilliard School. He loved music. He loved it so much that he took away football and baseball. In his second year at Juilliard School he developed schizophrenia. Mr. Ayers became homeless in the streets of downtown Los Angeles, playing the violin and the cello. Mr. Ayers loved Beethoven. Anyway, Steve tries to help fix him. But the problem is Nathaniel doesn't want to be fixed.

Robert Downey Jr. stars as Steve Lopez. Jamie Foxx stars as Nathaniel Ayers Jr. Their acting is really AMAZING. This film to me is the best of 2009 so far. Steve also wrote a book. Yes it's called "The Soloist".

Nathaniel's music can make everyone wowed. He has a gift.

Sometimes friends can be more than your friend. He could be your brother or sister. But sometimes they can piss you off. lol.(I don't know if I spelled the word "Piss" right lol)

The director is Joe Wright. Again I've never heard of him. Some directors a lot of times can be unknowing. And they can do amazing.

I hoped this short or I don't know review helped you to know about this movie. I really recommend it for anyone.

4.5 for me. I think that Jamie Foxx may have the B.S.A. Oscar bagged already.

It would've been interesting had Nathaniel played the Cello & Violin for the scenes that Jamie Foxx played them, since Jamie was just acting and not playing. Instead they used a guy named Ben Hong.
