"A safe noir hormonal memory that sails in your mind and seizes its core to explode under your eyes and forms one of the best pictures you'll see in years."

Harry Potter, a series that offers some of the best times in my life. I have memories with Harry Potter. Very Great Memories. from the first time I met the small wizard in 2001's first movie, the sorcerers stone till the great blasting of visuals and the adrenaline rush i had in Harry potter and the order of the phoenix. I have great memories with this series I can never forget, and i can't do anything but bow to the greatness put into this new part of it.

I tried my best to try and prepare myself to this movie. By preparing its profile on here, watching all of the movies again, and getting the soundtrack, I think I did well enough preparation. but now its time for me to get to see this new adventure and add it to my complete win full experience with this series. And so I went to the theater. Twice, already: once yesterday, and another today. and I just couldn't find time to write my complete review till now. sorta late if you think about it. but not really. I enter the theater with the palm of my heart beating. I couldn't resist the great feeling I get when I see the movie that I wanna watch so much. Same thing happened with watchmen earlier this year. Both ways it was worth it. And if you're not a fan of the movies, or the books, or the books and movies, or watched them and don't like them, then stay away from this review cause its gonna have any praise you'd like to hear for a movie as huge as this.

I tried to comfort myself in the seat, and since I was late, the movie started earlier, Both times >=(. But I was there when the man was standing in the building looking at the weather. This is supposed to be the start wasn't it? According to my feelings, I think it was the start.... Both ways, the movie felt really really close to the book. Try explaining the book's story and you'll get everything in harry potter. So I'll just go with the great book story talking about the movie.. The story is easy to follow, since the ministry of magic understood that the return of Voldrermort was real, now the fight starts. Easy to notice, the war will not be easy, with a 5 movie/book preparation you should wait for a lot. And this movie starts with the dark forces penetrating the real world muggles (a.k.a humans) live in. not very noticeably though. And then, we go directly to inside the story that includes alot of parts to it. and what is better than numbers to get everything straight.

One, Harry Potter along with Dumbledor start to search together for a clue to destroy the dark lord. Of course it would not be easy for that to happen, with dark forces trying the penetrate Hogwarts every second. So they start looking in memories to try and find something that could help them deal with what's out there. But the clue lies in the memoirs of a man named Horace Slughorn. this guy is the one of the professors of the one who sould not be named, Voldremort (LOL) when there was a good time to this world and the huge dark lord was just a student learning at Hogwarts. This professor knows it. its in his mind. This memory that might lead them to the killing of The one who should not be named, Voldremort (LOL). But the best part is, The relation between harry and dumbledor is getting better and better. Now, Harry is more of a friend than a student, and the hugly great dumbledor somehow seems much smaller than Harry. And this relation is something that is easily great. Usually other movies do that also, but they are not good at it. right here you can see that the movie has a great basis of Dumbeldor being "the great". And then showing him like that was something noticable, unlike the other movies that usually do both moves in one movie, where it is just something classic.

2, The great dark wizard is at move. but not only outside the walls, but also inside the walls. With one of the professors being a person with the dark lords' people, and one of the students becoming part of the dark lord's fighters, the whole thing gets scary. If you're waiting for names, There will be none, GO WATCH THE MOVIE. Also, one of the names is clearly said in the trailer, but the other was not revealed, except if you look closely. Anyways, everything is put together to show how dark men are already flying over Hogwarts.

Three, Expect a lot of hormones, more than any other harry potter movie, this one completely goes wild with hormones, but knows how to use them. you wont expect a good chick flick even though love is there, It was made completely smartly and put together to make no one believe this could be any close to a chick flick. WHY? because the hormones goes like this. Harmonie is in love with Ron. Ron is on Griffindor's Team to play in the game I will never remember the name for. He also is in love with another girl. A really good looking one. On the other side, another Love triangle forms with Harry, Ginnie and some other kid. so Harry being in the position of Harmonie. They had to stand by each others at hard times. Being a little dramatic at the right times, the movie checked in and out with these moments with funny jokes and completely unnoticeable parts. it was impossible to notice that you are going from fun to dark or from dark to fun. you'll just ride into this huge roller coaster and love it. its impossible if you don't.

Whether liked or not, the whole series is noticeably great. And this was one of the parts impossible not to notice in the story. This movie completes another great adventure for another great year for Harry Potter. With No really huge faults this movie tops this year's summer movies with an easy Five star for its story. Also this story completely goes great together. and it felt like a long ride that you'll love. it was impossible to forget it. its just too great. a story really put together and glued to form the Monalisa of J.K. Rowling. A great Monalisa.

Now, going on to the directing. David Yates, if I ever see you, I am going to give you a huge Hug for doing this. No Homo. This movie was directed under smart hands. Completely great, I saw it twice and just couldn't find any faults. Its either because the directing is good or I never payed attention, or the directing is good (a.k.a great). As heard, the full cast had been really relaxed will working with David Yates. So he totally did a great job in making the actors feel comfortable. And, if the actors are not comfortable, the actors would not be that good. So even in acting, he should be given a great deal of credit. This genius Director also did a great deal of directing. He had an impossible amount of great scenes where everything is noticeable when it is put together. The camera is put right at its place and you could never get lost in the screen especially in great fight scenes, which this one had wisely. Along with that, Harry potter was scenes from so many directory Visions, and from each version of directing, there was a great deal of places where you felt like the directing was amazing. David did a great job using that. He put together a great deal of directing skills used by each of the Past directors of Harry Potter to give us this. A huge visual movie that completely puts you breathless after its done. The movie also was scene in my head as scene on the screen. That Bastard Read my Head while i was reading the Book. OH crap (lol). And as seen in my head, it was dark and Filled with great noir scenes. Not only that, but he put together a great deal of scenes that are not noir to relief the people watching the movie. At the end you gotta have a little break in between since it was PG. But the movie was completely put together for kids and for mature people to love it. Anyone can fall in love with this great movie, and with smart directing, the movie is easily scene as a great one that shall be remembered in this series.

But when you ask for great directing, you always want desert. And desert of course is, Amazing visuals. Desert tonight, a great deal of vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate fudge. OOO, my favorite. and just like that, the visuals showed a great deal of smart minds behind it. Any action scene was visualized just right. perfectly put together for my imagination. And even scenes that had no action in them where completely put together and crowned with this great visual feast. But anyways, you might say any Harry Potter movie has these, and if I say you are wrong, I'll be killing myself live in front of you cause I'd be the biggest liar this earth have met yet. Any Harry Potter movie has a Huge deal of visuals, whether it was the great Dragon fight and the fight between Voldermort and Harry potter in the 4th. Or the great final scene in The 3rd. Or the great fight with the huge snake and spiders in the second. Or the great Fight between good and evil at the end of the fifth movie. But this movie just shined above all. It had a great deal of chunky visuals put together to make anyone fall under the spell. And I am not talking wizardry spells. Whether the technology became better than 2007 or whether the Visual director is a better one. I have no clue. I just know that this was like the reality thing I wanted to see in all other Harry potter Movies. Freaky that there was possible better visualization than the Past Harry Potter movie. I am still startled till now.

Ding Ding Ding. Acting time. This is truly one partial thing I felt it bump up a lot while seeing the Half Blood Prince. Many great actors already had it through the first movies, but even these actors made a better performance possible with the Half Blood Prince. to start with Daniel Radcliffe. Now the improvement was there and for sure had been getting better through the other years. but to get from what we saw in the order of the phoenix to THIS. Now that's a huge bump. In the order of the phoenix, Daniel made great acting happen. But this is just too good. whether it was him under the spell or whether it was the new faces he did. He made this movie a possible ticket to a real wizardry world. If I see a person acting in front of me the way he did in the movie, I'd be believing either he should go to a doctor or the whole wizardry thing is a real living life. he got all the good acting he had in the last 5 years and added a ton more of real acting to make a huge difference with what you see. There was this one part where he sounded like a fag, but he had to play it. So I thought he meant it, I was about to scream it. but it was in the script and then I had to clap. it was like an impossible jump, but Daniel did it. He did a hugely great job making harry Potter a much more real person in my mind through this movie. I have to say it right to him. Daniel you made yourself through the great job through this movie. Great job. Freaking awsome. I could see his acting through this 5 more times and not complain, he sounded so REAL.

And now to go with the great opposite of Harry potter. Draco Malfoy, played by Tom Felton, was done through another great job. He grew 50 years between the fifth and this one. its either that or I never noticed him through the fifth year's movie. He had done a great job through the first five though. But in this movie, he shines up top. He puts dark in Darco. you can sense a great scene of evil when he is around. Even when he is acting that he is acting, he does it so good. His improvement was completely noticeable. Another big deal of improvement for this series was this.

Played by Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. Ron and Harmione had done a great job putting everything that has to do with love in the scene. Whether the funny part of the story, or the dramatic part of the story. They where the makers of the teenage scene in this movie. But even they have done it with a great compaction that you barely notice they even know the camera was there. I am not sure they did know that. I have to give them also the great honor of upgrading this genre of movies. That's romantic comedy. since they had a part filled with that kind of movie genre. It was noticeable they where in the movie for that. But they did it. with a job greater than I thought they could do. They had done an acting taste added to that part of cinematography. they added this nice spice to this movie's recipe. They also had a huge upgrade in acting. Through this movie, Ron was put under a spell. but do you even notice his sane side? NO. That's what I call an upgrade for Ron's character. great job, again.

Now to start talking professors, I have to give the scene to Professor Dumbledore, or Michael Gambon. Now a great actor like this one had to be on the list of great actors already. but mentioning it is possibly one great part of the review, for a SAD reason I wont mention for the people who still didn't see the movie. of course if you were in the movie you'd notice the fact that something big happens with this character. SO paying respect to the great acting, I have to tell you he is one great chracter played by one hell of a good actor. He made the laughs giggle in my heart through this movie alot also. he had done it for the 50th time by the time the movie ended. something you would not expect if you have seen the first 5 movies for he had done a great job being the GREAT BIG dumbledore, but he shows us through this movie that he can do well on his own in comedy too. Dumbledore that is. because if you've seen any Harry Potter movie, you'll know that this character was never Michael Gambon. It was Dumbledore all along. I know it.

Now to go to the other professors. All of them had done an amazing job. Professor snape, played by Alan Rickman had done another great job. he had to be one of the greatest actors that had upgraded from 1 to 2 in this movie. great improvement for the character. It sounded great through the first 5 movie and continued to ring my ear till now, the accent that is. Maggie smith had done another great job with her character. No real improvement in her character, but still you can see the great loving mother and the going-hard teacher through this character in the movie.

Also this movie had a great soundtrack used at the exact time you wanna hear it. I heard the soundtrack before the movie, so I was familiar with the tunes, but still I didn't know they where gonna use them SO greatly.

At the end, I have to give creadit for this movie to be one of the truly best of this year. they uplifted this year by making this movie wait from 2008's release date. I think if the movie was released in 2008, the movie year this year would've been disastrous. at least till now it is. The Half Blood Prince made this year shine above many other movie years. Harry Potter had a new idea when i read the Book of Harry Potter 6. New the Idea of Harry Potter is upgraded even more. Truly one of the best movies in the series (Still fighting if this one or the third should top the Harry Potter list). And ending the end of this review, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is a safe noir hormonal memory that sails in your mind and seizes its core to explode under your eyes and forms one of the best pictures you'll see in years. Harry Potter, now I am ready. Give me a Deathly Hallow.

Wow. A lot of comments. Well, good thorough review and I will check it out. However, I have a feeling I might side with Moviebuff's and Slysnide's opinion more, due to not liking the series too much. Haha. My personal fave was Goblet of fire. :PO Don't judge me.

haha. btw, i thought it was terrible how JKR axed Mad-Eye from the series. That sucked! He deserved much better despite that his imposter played him through the majority of his character arc (ya it's weird, since it wasn't him, but it kinda was, lol).

How far are you now?

MOODY DIES. SHIIIIITTTT.
NO I meant the owl, considered that as a ONE. and Mad-eye had died.
FUCK, now part of the book will be ruined. well not as big as the part ruined for me from the half-blood prince. one stupid info got me to open a fight the info was "Dumbledore Dies at the end". they passed by me. It was a fight to remember.
FUCK SPOILERS.
but in this case its not your fault anyways. if he dies in the wedding that is, because till now he is still alive.

Oh thanks for the advice Sly, I am pretty sure to take it in.
I never thought of it like that. but I think I still remember some of the parts of it. the book's gotta give some good hints.
I did that only not to break the spell early, you know what i mean. till now it LOOKS AWSOME. can't wait to see what they'll make out of the voldermort vs. HP fight on the bike of sirius black. that should be awsome. and OMG, 2 already dead
that's bad. I hope no closer ones get killed I am at the wedding. In fact I think I'll be reading that chapter today. I still have time. maybe also reading the one after it. It is an awsome book till now. could make up 1 great movie put together. but as said they probably are bringing some of the 6th into the seventh movie. which should be awsome. I'll take your advice, read the last couple of chapters in 6, and then move on. but I have no book list, IDK if I might read the complete book again, before I continue the deathly hallows. that should be a good thing to do.
thanks for the advice and I'll be checking HP2's review arround now, or tomorrow if I'll be reading ch8 and ch9.

Wait Wait Wait Wait Wait!!!!!!! You can't read #7 without recalling all the data from #6 that was altered or excluded from film 6, cuz otherwise it won't make sense as time passes on. It'll get weird without being reminded of all the stuff. I'd highly advise you skim the chapters on V's past, the horcruxes, and the last 5 chapters before going into #7 so it won't be confusing or less entertaining. It'll help a lot. Just sayin. 7 chapters in isn't too bad, but it gets odder without a refreshed memory after that. Oh, and my HP2 review is now up.

I'd have to agree, the second was really good. my best ones are 3 and this one. sorry for the disapointment but I think this one just was over the top.
also, Sly, I think they are making this one sorta MORE funny because the 7th and 8th are gonna be pretty dark. oh and did you know I have not read the 7th book, started it today. got to chapter 7 already. the reason why I still didn't read it is because I wanted to see the 6th movie before reading it. I noticed since I read the books so long ago I couldn't remember all the details. it happened to HP4 and HP5. by then I already read the book for the sixth, so I think that's why I am not that reminded of the book. a good 3 years is a long time for a person to keep on remembering everything in the books.
a year before should be ok as a timing for me to remember everything for the deathly hallows movies, both of them.
Oh I agree, I think they are putting the stuff that happened after D's death in the movies to come. I mean there should be a great reason for them to do that.
But also, you cannot mess with the HP6 movie. I think stand alone. it made me feel just so good about it.
and the ACTING WAS GREATTT.

Good review FOY.

July 18th, 2009 8:29pm
thats fine. i get what you mean by not being able to include all the stuff, but to add things not even in the book like the burrow burning and extra scenes with Harry & Ginny and Hermione crying over bs rather than spending that runtime on the point in the book is not a good thing. idk, i heard rumor that most of V's past stuff from book 6 will be divulged in film 7 given that it' since been split into 2 movies. but that still doesn't help this one.

As for stand alone, I agree, it'd be good as that, but being 6th overall makes that a harder one. Especially since D's death at the end was a huge deal, and nearly 60 pages was spent accounting for the aftermath of the whole thing. But here, the last 2 chapters of the book were non existent. No mourning, no caring, just a quick scene. The last paragraph of chapter 28 summed it up pretty well.

As for the title, well it didn't play out in the movie as in the book, and granted it wasn't a great title to begin with as the half-blood prince hadn't much to do with the story, but I think I woulda titles the book & film: "Harry Potter and the Pensieve of Dark Memories." (or something to that extent).

#2 is still my fav film overall. More suspense, better plot, more creepy, better climax, better music. ha. I'm posting my HP2 review tonight. HP1 is already up.

Have you never heard of the saying a "great might warrior". or the great napoleon. that doesn't mean these people where good. it was a "great fight". its said in movies. that means, it sorta will be remembered even if not good. you know what I mean.
Great is taken appart from the word "I had a great day". but I see what you're trying to say.

NO Foy... 911 was NOT a "great" event. It was a "tragic" one. That's like saying Pearl Harbor was a great event. Choose your words wisely. 911 and Pearl Harbor are important events in history, but "great" events? No.... not unless you're an Islamic terrorist or a Japanese soldier in the 1940's.... and really not even then. I certainly hope you don't think that our bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were "great" events just because it won us the war. They were tragic and horrific events. Important to history but not "great".

So... no... Harry Potter did NOT have a great year. He was responsible for the Weasley's house burning, he finds out he is the one that has to put himself in danger to find the horcruxes, and worst of all... he loses the one person he respected and loved the most (and we know who I'm talking about). No... Harry definitely has had better years.

I agree with a lot that you are saying sly, but also you cannot disagree that as a movie stand-alone, the movie had a great deal of greatness. + story is only the 1/4 part of the rating. along with the others, it makes up everything else. also, you cannot include everything in a movie. that is noticeable. this is a 700 page book are you kidding me. you cannot include everything in. + some parts in the book you included as not seen in the movie are seen already in the movie.
so technically I still think that the story is good.
maybe I forgot about the book. didn't read it lately you know. IDK. still stands up as harry potter 6.

wtf? I can literally scratch out 11 chapters from the book. What happened to V meeting Hepzibah to take Hufflepuff's cup & locket? What about the backstory to Morfin's ring? What about the Durseleys? What about Trelawney making the prediction? What about the prophecy of book 5 being proved pointless? What about the point in having the vanishing cabinet to distract other skilled wizards while Malfoy carried out the deed? What about the significance Voldemort considered if he owned every prized possesion the 4 founders of the school had? What about hiding the book beneath Ravenclaw's crown? What about the meaning of "half blood prince"? What about Voldemort killing his parents and altering the minds of others to blame them instead? What about Voldemort wanting the job at Hogwarts so he could search for something that belonged to Gryffindor? What about the battle in the climax? What about the significance that was Dumbledore's death which was treated as nothing here? What about "The Other Minister"? What about Voldemort's past that was scattered throughout? What about the other horcruxes not mentioned? What about Harry having direction as to how to find them in the next chapter? What about V's job at Borgin & Burkes? What about the entire point in the story being Voldemort's past being chopped from the book for lackluster reasons?

So ALL THAT considered, then how the fuck can anyone see that this film had anything of value there besides being an unneccesary chapter? Ask any book fan who's read this more than once. It sucked. My points can't be denied. They're facts. If these 5 star ratings from book fans continue, then I will no longer believe their ratings/reviews of franchise flicks.

Everyone loved it. and it was pretty faithful IDK what you mean. I mean ya there was some faults, not that much of voldermort's memories but I also Like to take HP movie series stand alone, that's why my review didn't include the partial paragraph where I talk about the book and the movie because, for this particular series, I don't like doing that. not because its not faithful, but because I see now that the Movies could be stand alone, y'know what I mean. of course the books are better but I wont compare.

I saw it yesterday. I can't understand why book fans thought it so good. It sucked beyond reason. We've seen the same banter 5 times before, so why waste millions on another movie of the same thing if they're not gonna throw in the ACTUAL PLOT of the book? Seriously, even the title didn't play out.

I'll post my HP6 review Monday night, and the others on the mornings and nights beforehand, meaning within the next 90 minutes, my HP1 review will be up, and by this time or earlier tonight, my HP2 review will be up...so on and so forth.
