"Loud and brash and balls galore!"
Star Trek purists such as myself may not really dig this. Its loud, brash, slick... who am I kidding? This is definitely the SH!T!
What a great cast. At first I didn't think that Sylar was going to be a very convincing Spock, but he did ok. Cameo from original Spock Leonard Nimoy was a highlight (if a little too often). Ben Cross as Spock's dad was just gold... gold I tell you. The new Kirk is a chip off the old Shatner block. Ohura was smart and sassy and ... damn I liked this film! Eric Bana is almost unrecognizable for awhile there as a Romulan freak. Not too long. Great effects. True to the legacy with a modern no-nonsense smack-em-in-the-head-with-a-big-stick approach that is sure to inspire a sequel or two that'll also be very entertaining. I am looking very forward to seeing where this goes... McG should see this film to look at what a real creative does with his time. Go JJ!
PS. One bummer is that they cast Harold from Harold and Kumar as Sulu. For the amount of screentime the character had, they could have used some dude scaped off the floor of your local bar, who, incidentally, would have done a more convincing job. Please recast for sequel, thank you.
