"Can we talk about that when i get back from alaska?"

This is probably one of my favorite biopics ive ever seen , its got a terrific story , great characters , top notch acting , great dialouge , and emotion . (even william hurt was good !!) this movie was 2hrs. and 30mins. long , and yeah , it feels long but its not in the sense where i was going "damn , is this almost over?" but where i was saying "what more could they do with this?" there is one problem though , the character emil hirsch portrays (even though he ws=as terrific ) i felt they portrayed the character as to much of a proc. he touched people but when he left them he would be a dick in some way (especially to hal holbrook ) and so , when he died i didnt really care . but , nonetheless , this is still a very good and touching film.

Sean Penn's directing is top notch as with The Pledge.. this is a must see film, and very thought provoking.. I understand he hated the system and wanted to just go back packing and live off the land etc.. But what annoyed me was the fact he never once rang his Mum and Dad,just to let them know he was safe..and to see their frustration and watching them spiral into nervous breakdowns was heart wrenching..

I'm trying to get everyone I know to watch this movie. It's just really well done.
