"Consider current special effects "transformed" "

While some of you may not be familiar with the 80's cartoon show, I walked out thinking, gosh...that wasn't much different from the cartoon show, only less cheesy. Not once did I peek down at my watch to see what time it was (a big indicator if I think a film sucks or not), and while the FX scenes were very well done in their fashion, I found few shots in the movie had no FX shots at all.

While Michael Bay (director) is well known to "blow stuff up good" this movie actually works with his style. I was shocked that he didn't incorporate some zooming shots (that I find highly annoying) like in his other films (which include some major flops I might add). However, the POV of the robots did zoom when seen from their eyes, which works fine because heck, they're robots, and it was only in the beginning. Good to get that out of the way.

Although Megan Fox's character was a little "fluffy", the characters were good, minus the "sector 7" agent (not to be confused with the guy carrying the briefcase...I meant the one who arrests Sam, etc). In fact he is the reason the film gets an A- rather than a straight A. His film time needed to be cut shorter. This may not appeal to all film viewers, but I'd say its the first movie this year that I'm willing to see again, so far.

The visual effects were the most breathtakingly amazing (and unexpected) since the first Jurassic Park, in my opinion. The final word is, yes, the story is simple, but the flow of action convincingly draws you into the fray, and all is well. "Let's roll out!"
