"Definetly one of the worst of the year and the worst in the Mummy series."
I didn't expect much from this movie for 2 reasons. One it did not have The Rock in it and two, it was a straight to DVD film. But I didn't expect it to be this bad. Im glad I rented instead of purchased this piece of crap.
The movie follows a young Mathayus whose father is killed by the evil Sargon[played terribly by UFC wrestler Randy Couture]. He seeks revenge and many stupid action sequences follow like a arrow chasing them through a city.
The acting is horrible. Randy Couture will never have a future in acting. The young Mathayus who is played by Michael Copon is also terrible making weird facial reactions that I doubt happened back then. Now I know why Dwayne Johnson turned down the role.
Director Russell Mulcahy who's previous film Resident Evil: Extinction which I liked is out of his element here. It was smart of Steven Sommers to not even be involved with this film.
The visuals are incredibly cheesy. Not even half as good as the first Scorpion King which was realeased six years ago.
The picture looks good and the sound is fine. But I didn't even bother checking out the special features.
So if your looking for a film like this just watch the first Scorpion King or The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emporer. But at all costs skip this piece junk.

I did, however, thought you'd give a lower rating than 2 1/2 stars. That rating equals an average movie... its like giving 5 stars out of possible 10. If the movie is as bad as you say.. it probably deserves a 1 or 1 1/2... which is like giving a 2 or 3 on a ten star rating base.
