Now I know that this film had parts in it that lagged, to give sort of a realistic feel of what it would be like to be the last man on earth, but it was a bit too much. I did like the "LOST-like" flashbacks to provide context.
I did not like the look of the infected. Way too much CGI and not enough good old-fashioned makeup. I realize that Lawerence is trying to stay accurate to the description in the book, but he could have added a little more scary, flare to these monsters in his adaptation/interpretation of this story.
Will Smith is always great. He can be extremely emotional at times, but then whip out that spontaneous comic-relief that we all love him for. He was especially good in Legend, showing us the breakdown psychologically that a person in his situation would ultimately suffer.
Overall it was OK. I'm kind of strung out on zombie flicks lately, and they always seem to follow the same formula whether the intention is to scare, thrill or provide a commentary on society. I went twice, but only to see both The Dark knight Prologue and the official trailer on the big-screen, which was NUT-WORTHY OF COURSE!!
