"The Soprano’s on Bikes!"

There are not many series that catch my imagination, but seeing as Ron Perlman stars in the Sons of Anarchy it raised my eye brows. Overall I was not disappointed.

The Sons of Anarchy or to give them their proper title 'Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original Charter' or SAMCROW (Sam Crow) as they are known to the locals. Are an illegal motorcycle gang that more or less rule the small town of Charming. Cross these guys and you are in a world of pain.

This doesn't stop a rival gang from kicking over a warehouse were SAMCROW produce illegal guns. They steal the stock and then torch the warehouse, causing a large explosion. This is a loss SAMCROW can recover from but it is complicated when two bodies of illegal's who build the guns are found, burnt to death.

Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman) is the President of the club with Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam ) as the Vice President. Jax's father was one of the original founding members, so he is VP by virtue of this fact. Jax has a unique handle on the club and start's to question the methods the club uses. This is compounded when he finds some old journals written by his father, outlining the general concepts of how the club should operate. It looks like his father viewed the club more from a 'Hippy' standpoint than its current 'Outlaw' status.

Clay has no such concerns, he just wants his guns back and wants them back quick. He has a shipment to fill to some rather unsavoury characters who will not be too pleased that the shipment has already been delayed.

As Jax starts to uncover the whereabouts of the guns, his ex-wife Wendy a drug addict gives birth to his son prematurely, the boy has a congenital heart defect and also a tear in the abdomen. It is touch and go as to whether the boy will live.

Jax is torn by his family commitment and then also his commitment to the club, his extended family. What comes first?

So far what is noticeable about this series is the amount of known faces. I say known faces because I am not sure you will know names, but they are people you have seen in other popular shows and some who have made quite a few movie appearances.

All in all this is quite a promising start to what hopefully will be an interesting series overall.
