"The best acting job by Keanu Reeves to date."
The Day the Earth Stood Still is a remake of the classic 1951 version, which I've seen twice but not for about 10 years. So I don't remember much from the original. Aliens come to Earth to deliver a message to humanity either live peacefully or be destroyed.
The remake is basically the same, just a updated version. The story is well done, but wasn't great. The writers didn't to a good job with the supporting characters. Giving them almost no time in the movie, which leaves you feeling nothing for them when they die. The overall story on the other hand was great.
The acting was very good. Like I said before this was the best acting job by Keanu Reeves to date since he didn't have to show any real emotion and that's the only way he can act. Jennifer Connelly was great, she truly is a great actress. Jaden Smith(Will Smith's son) was good. The supporting cast with Kathy Bates, Jon Hamm, Robert Knepper, and John Cleese did a great job with the limited time they were given. I really wish they gave more time to John Cleese. His character was interesting and I really like the actor since his days on Monty Python.
The special effects were great, and the musical score was good.
Overall a great film worth seeing.
On a side note which might motivate you to see the movie. During the previews they showed trailers for Star Trek, the new trailer for Terminator Salvation and Wolverine. Wolverine looks amazing and I can't wait for it to come out. I might just go see this movie again just to see the preview for it again.

Huntsman. you still ruined it even though it is the day the earth stood still people still wants to know the ending by watching the movie not by reading it here.
it was supposed to be the ending of the world in many other movies but really it wasn't. like i am legend for example.
