What a brilliant film!!
Back in 2006, I had an opportunity to see this film, but I turned it down, thinking it would be rubbish. How wrong was I!?
The film is amazing from start to finish with the exception of a few amature camera shots and movements.
What I love about CoM, and what probably makes it so enjoyable and engrossing, is the way the story is told and unfolds. The director (Cuaron) has done so well here to create something that makes you feel you're actually on this journey with the main character (Clive Owen) and that you are witnessing all the monstrosity that is unfolding around him!
One of the first things I noticed with this method of storytelling is that it strikes a remarkable resemblance to the way the story is told in the "Half-Life 2" video game. I couldn't believe just how similar it actually was!
If a "Half-Life 2" adaption is ever to be produced, then Alfonso Cuaron is definietly the man for the director's job as this is the exact style that a Half-Life film will need!
Overall, Children of Men is a brilliant film with only minor problems and is a must see for just about anyone!
