As soon as the film begins, the suspense is built up very well while the scary scenes that follow are executed perfectly.
Jack Nicholson's performance is amazing. The way he slowly loses his mind through the course of the film is fantastic.
My only complaints about the film is that the music is overused at some moments and Shelley Duvall's acting is quite appalling considering the great reputation the film has.
In conclusion, if you love horror then you really should see this movie as this is the film that many modern horrors look up to.
