Del toro as usual dominates the screen with his authorative presence and convincing performance as a drug taking low-life whose only friend is tragically removed from the world.
halle berry's performance was not bad at all.after some of the recent not so great performances she bounces back to convince the viewer that she is in dispair and needing companionship.
the film itself,is strange in a way,... a strong story and great cast and yet there is a strange sense that reality does not exist.
this film is a good film and is definately worth a watch and you should make your own opinion on whether or not it is an award-winning film!!!in my opinion the film is worth watching but when you look at the other films that it stands against then i do not think it is of the same calibre!!!
