"THE LIVES OF OTHERS"

First of all, I would like to say that "The Lives of Others" should have not won BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM at the Oscars. I believe that "Pan's Labyrinth" should of taken home that prize. But "The Lives of Others" does show potential. The acting is superb, dido the writing and directing but the problem is that it is a bit long for the type of film that it is. 2 and a half hours was way dragged out for the plot, the film would have worked well with an hour and fifty minutes or somewhere around that range instead. I still enjoyed it overall but it is hard to slog through a film that has no pulse.
