Even though this movie has little to do with Philip K. Dick’s amazing novel, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", the concept is there and most of Philip's strange obsession with artifact animals got tossed out the window which would have been just weird in the movie anyway. Still a damn good book. This movie is one of Ridley’s best ever; the cast alone is worth watching. Harrison Ford, Edward James Olmos, Sean young, Rutger Hauer, even Darryl Hanna. Scott even brought some of Dick’s crazy toys into the movie
Ridley Scott brought us a strangely stylized vision of the future, were androids look and feel human and are used in off world colonies. The engineers of these robots strive to make Replicants more ‘human’, they begin to question their existence and some make their way to earth. That’s were the ‘blade runners’ come in. Lowly cop bounty hunters who hunt only replicants. Everything in this movie is amazing, from the eye stress test, to flying cars, Olmos leaving lil paper origami’s everywhere. The backgrounds are epic and surreal, and you get lost in he craziness of everything around you.
