"We Own The Night"

This may not be the greatest cop drama ever but its not like its the worst one. The one thing I really liked about We own the Night is the fact that its a cop drama that does not have any corruption. The movie has that French Connection,Godfather,and Serpico feel to it and you get the sense that director James Gray took a lot from those films. The main problem of this film is that it drags a little and at times it feels a little over dramatic. This is no Departed I thought and hoped it might be as good as the Departed but it just isn't. The performances are very good the direction is good but I felt that the way the movie turned out could of been a little better. Its not a bad movie its not like its a movie that looked great but turned out like crap. If you have seen James Grays film the Yards you know he must love the Godfather because when I watched this movie the look of it was very Godfather and thats one thing I really liked about this movie.
