Jurassic Park 3 is an exciting adventure from beginning to end. A series that you would think would run out of ideas goes and gives us this entertaining and unique twist on an old favorite. Most of that twist is because of director Joe Johnston, who replaces Steven Spielberg, the director of the first two installments.

Johnston does an amazing job of honoring Jurassic Park and it's sequel The Lost World: Jurassic Park, while also giving us his own vision.

One of the best addtions to the series is the Spinosaurus, which easily takes away the spotlight from the star of the first two films, the T-Rex. The film's creators quickly get rid of the Rex to make room for the Spinosaurus, by delivering one of the highlights of the film: Spinosuarus vs. T-Rex, and the Spino easily kills the Rex, cementing his name in Jurassic Park franchise. While the fight is short, it's still great to watch.

In fact, the entire movie is short, about a half-hour shorter than its predecessors, but it doesn't take away how enjoyable this film is.

Another great addition to the film are long-awaited, high-flying phterodactyls(or however u spell it). These dino-birds(as I will refer to them) were cameoed and teased at the end of Lost World, but were never dealt with by Spielberg. Now, we finally get to see the dino-birds in thier glory, and it's worth the wait. The velocoraptors also get fair treatment in this movie, as they have become the stars of the films, as they are portrayed as being extremely intelligent team hunters. The creators make sure to get the point across that they are extremely smart animals.

The story could be better, in which Sam Neil's character is asked to be a touring guide for William H. Macey and Tea Leon's characters on Site B of the dinosaurs, but is lied to and discovers that Macey and Leon are only trying to find their son. When thier plane crashes, the fun begins. But it's still a passable plot in order to give a reason why these people keep going back to these friggin islands.

Niel returns, after skipping the Lost World, and reminds us that this film hasn't strayed too far from the first movie. The rest of the cast, including William H. Macey and Tea Leoni, is okay. There's a bit of humor mixed in for good measure, also. All in all, Jurassic Park 3 is a great addition to a great series.
