"Freakin SWEET"
This is a great movie, from beginning to end its not stop thrill and suspense. Its a simple story, set up nicely, they don't over examine things and just let events unfold. The lil bats humanoids are awesome! The action is good and overall this is a very kickass film!
The beginning of the film starts off quiet with some friends white water rafting, a fight in the car leads to a traumatic accident. This scene was great, the camera is in the back seat as the main character Sarah are her husband argue, her husband swerves just a lil and you can see the other car come smashing in. The husband and Sarah's daughter die and things for Sarah are never the same.
Later the friends regroup in America to go cave diving. Juno played by Natalie is trying to fix the turmoil within the group leads them off to a cave never before explored. Entering the cavern collapses and the group must push forward to get out of the cave. One character running for light breaks her leg, and Sarah begins to see things in the darkness of the cave. With out warning the creatures in the cave attack and things get crazy. Another great part is the first fight with the creatures, Juno is trying desperately to save Holly who broke her leg and became an appetizer for the humid creatures. Juno goes crazy swinging her pike around and getting down right dirty. Beth played by Alex Reid makes a fatal mistake and walks up on Juno after she killed two of the creatures; Juno turns and rams her pike through Beth's neck, instead of helping she leaves her to die and trys to save her own skin.
Sarah has what I like to call the Ripley effect, she goes from quiet and paranoid and deeply depressed into a machine. There is a saying that human are their best when things are at their worst. And its true with Sarah. She begins to think clearly and almost animalistic and she makes her way alone in the dark of the caves killing the creatures as she can. She soon finds Beth and comes to realize that Juno is the source of all her pain, having been in an affair with Sarah's late husband. Beth begs Sarah for death and Sarah goes on to find the others. In the end she leaves Juno to fight the daemons and Sarah runs.
I really like the ending cause it leaves it open to if she really go away or just had another flash back and became lost in her own delusions.
