THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE (2008)

"For True X-Files Believers...!"

First off, I am a huge X-Files fan! It is wonderful to see Mulder and Scully up on the big screen, they have been missed! The character development between Mulder and Scully has been handled well, and fans of the show will love the relationship that has developed between the two.

Mulder is still Mulder, and Scully is Scully! There are some great moments between the two, and all their little quirks are in the film. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny deliver great performances, and have lost none of the nuances of their characters.

If it wasn't for the fact that the main characters are Scully and Mulder, then sadly, I'd have to say it is a bit of a flop. I've only rated the movie so highly because it IS X-Files.

After all the secrecy over the films alleged "monster", well, I must say I was disappointed. The X-Files series delivered us some truly memorable monsters, such as the Flukeman, and I was waiting anxiously for a terrifyng and grotesque monster... and as the film's credits finished rolling, I was still waiting...

As the film's title states, "I Want To Believe", how truly apt. I Want To Believe this is a good movie...! So, if you are a fan of Mulder and Scully, then go see this movie! Just don't have high expectations of being rewarded with a scary monster...

I only hope that they will make another X-Files movie and fix all the mistakes of this one! I Want To Believe...

BTW you don't have to give spoilers to write a good review or tell people if a movie was good or bad. Just don't say it was bad and that's all your review is.

Yes I agree with PUNISHER, what was so bad about the movie... You really didn't say too much. I Want to Believe is the title and what about it? I WANT TO BELIEVE someone may actually write a decent review that at least tells me something. So that I may decide to see it in theaters or wait for the DVD. Huge fan too.

So your biggest problem with this is there isnt a big scary monster? Way to nit pick. What else? Did the title ruin the movie for you? Would a different title makes this better?
