"Surprisingly Boll delivers an interesting film for once...although it was insanely B-movie-ish, I actually did not want to kill myself like I do in his other movies."

I am really confused to say that this movie surprised me. I HATE Uwe Boll's films(primarily Bloodrayne, that is IMO the worst movie I have ever seen), but I was actually interested in this one.

The story was not that great, farmer man picks up a sword to fight evil yada yada yada we have all heard it before. The bad guys were kinda like orcs from LOTR....but you could tell that they were not real, bad costumes. The acting was horrible, with the exception of Jason Statham and Ron Perlman(who was friggin hilarious). Jason just did his normal man of few words thing, and Ron his normal blunt side cracks thing.

The visuals in this movie were alright. I have seen better.....like 5 years ago. Come on Mr. Boll you'd think a director of your caliber would have caught up on that.....not.

But besides the cliche story and the horrible acting and mediocre visuals, this movie somehow kept me watching. Maybe I'm just a sucker for sword flicks...I don't know.

But one thing I don't understand is how Statham never put armor on. You're about to go into battle man! Peasant clothes wont do it for you!

All in all, a good B movie. Probably Boll's best yet, which is pretty sad.

statham has been doin some shit lately. you guys seen chaos? wow, talk about bad acting. i bought it and watched the first 30 minutes of it b4 shutting it off and tossing it to the side for it to collect dust. this is a Boll film. course it sucked, i havent seen it but i noticed he didnt put any armor on. i can only imagine how the cast and crew sat back and watched boll work and muttered foul things under the breath lol ie -this guy sucks-

the creatures actually looked a lot like the ones in the game the movie was based off of which was out long before the LOTR movies were made so they could have been part of the inspiration for the movies Urk Hai.
