I think this remake was very good. Keanu Reeves brought a slightly different personality to Klatu that lacked emotion but his performance was awesome. There were subtle changes made to the story that worked very well. This was a brilliant cast; Kathy Bates, Jennifer Connelly and Jaden Smith were superb. As well as the aforementioned Keanu Reeves. Excellent special effects added to a really good remake of an already outstanding original. The robot Gort was impressive, however I did'nt care for how extremely large he was made.
