"You Bet Your Bollocks It's Entertaining!"

This is a very entertaining movie. I’m a bit bias because I personally am a big fan of heist movies and this one is just as cool as the others. THE BANK JOB will not rob your good time, instead it delivers a not so smooth yet intriguing operation. The fact that it’s based on a true story makes it all the more… engaging. And just like most heist movies, you find yourself drawn to the characters to the point where you want the thieves to get away with their sin.

What I really like about this movie and a dozen other British movies like this one is their language. THE BANK JOB got British slanks and jokes that you’d find funny if you get what they’re talking about.

Jason Statham has a very distinctive voice, that when he says “you bet your bollocks!”, it comes out cool!

Speaking of which, it’s a good change to see Jason Statham not doing his Karate kicking action once in a while.

After doing The Italian Job and this… I think George Clooney should invite him if they ever make Ocean’s Fourteen.

Plotwise, I think the storyline could’ve been done in much shorter time.

I gotta admit, this movie’s heist is not as clever as Ocean’s Eleven series. In this one, they’re just digging a tunnel and that’s about it.

The movie does have family elements to it and it has its own way of showing the consequences of stealing from worse criminals and even though it does have a cool layout for how they manage to get out of this mess, there’s nothing too complex about it, so when they do succeed, you’re not all that impressed.

The movie does well in taking us back in time to the 70s with the costumes and the music and the haircut and the cars. It also has another reason that demands our attention. Model/Actress Saffron Burrows is quite possibly one of the most beautiful lesbians on the planet, although her character in this movie is straight as it can be.

The political aspect was pretty intricate, in my opinion, it’s got the good old games of spy, murder, betrayal.

I refuse to agree with others who think that this movie is a bore. It may not be the greatest heist movie but it’s still an excellent one to enjoy for a movie night.
