"Shake, rattle, and Bond."
Overall, not a bad Bond film.
It may not strike out as the greatest thing under the sun, or the best Bond film for that matter, but the feel and delivery was on par with its predecessor. As the first Bond sequel ever made, it picks up where it left off and never stops rolling. Any Bond enthusiast will be pleased with this film. Even if you are not a Bond fan, the action sequences will be enough to keep you on your toes.
The breakdown:
Good: Innovative camera angles that follow the action (following falling characters from a ledge and through roof, among others). The plot was very much tied to Casino Royale, so if you have not seen that one before, you'll be lost. That's a promise. Acting, very well done. Connery finally has someone who can match him in charisma and a domineering presence.
Bad: Close up action sequences, especially in the beginning. I have never been a fan of shaky cameras, but its worse when the whole interior of a car is moving every which way and you don't know where or what is going on. But that's me. If you share a similar dislike in film, viewer beware. There is also the issue of a shaky plot line which still works. At least, it makes sense in the end. Aside from a few cool action scenes, this film would have been better off, slightly, with another director.
In a nutshell, "You don't need to worry about me", because this Bond delivers the goods. Its as good as your average Bond flick.
