"A magnificent WWII film through the eyes of the "enemy"...Almost like "300""
When I began to watch this film I was not expecting a whole lot out of it. It impressed me to the max. The battle of Iwo Jima Island through the eyes of the "enemy" Japan was beatifully told. Iwo Jima portrayed the struggle that the Japanese officers and soldiers had to endure in their defense of their beloved island from the unstopable Americans. The pressure that the Japanese put on themselves showed why they would go to any length to protect their country. The acting by the all Japanese cast was beatiful; bleeding their emotion even through the subtitles.(The entire film was spoken in Japanese with subtitles) The action was great, showing the intensity of war and visuals were very realistic. Overall this is a great movie to watch and exprience the true emotion of the battle field.
