""Chainsaw bleeds""
The psychopath that will not stop killing is back. From the director of the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake in 2003, Jonathan Leibesman films The Beginning. This prequel portrays how the so-called "nice little boy" became a serial killing, chainsaw massacring maniac.
In August 1939, when a deformed baby is thrown in the trash, a desperate old lady takes the baby and raises it to be a crazy killing machine. The plot starts out like any other teen slashing horror flick. A group of friends go on a road trip when they are confronted with a horror that threatens their lives. The Beginning is based more on the killings of the crazy old cop Hoyt (R. Lee Ermey). Leatherface, whose real name we find out is Thomas Hewitt, is only in one third of the movie. When Leatherface was born, his birth was like a scene in Bride of Chucky when Tiffany gave birth.
The whole movie is as gross as it is terrifying. The blood and guts are blown way out of proportion, reminding viewers of a Saw film. In one incident, Leatherface stabs his chainsaw through the chest of a victim and turns the chainsaw on, which creates a jaw-dropping, teeth-grinding, bloody fatality.
The Film is a scary fright fest that will cause you to jump out of you seat. I would recommend this film to teenagers looking for a good scary night at the movies with friends. Although this film is not the best and surely not the scariest it is the most bloody.
