"Jared Leto needs to Nominated for this!"

Wow! Jared Leto’s transformation to look like the cuckoo killer Mark David Chapman is amazing. Jared practically gained 60 pounds just for this role. People have been comparing this drastic acting to the great Robert De Niro’s performance in Raging Bull where he ended up… fat for the last parts of the movie. CHAPTER 27 plays with our patience and depends solely on Jared Leto’s ability to drive us on a journey into Mark Chapman’s insanity and back.

As a whole, the movie doesn’t give us insight as to what compelled Mark Chapman to believe that he must kill John Lennon other than the fact that he thought John was a phony like what he also thought about everybody else on this earth.

CHAPTER 27 does, however, do well in showing us the connection of the novel “The Catcher in The Rye” and its number one reader/fan of all time, Mark Chapman.

The title of this movie is taken from the fact that the book The Catcher in The Rye only has 26 chapters.

I think Jared Leto’s performance is Oscar worthy. If he doesn’t get nominated for this, then I guess it’s going to take him a long time before he finds another powerful role that he could play to finally prove himself once again.

Gigs like this only comes once in a lifetime and most actors would rather wear a fat fake suit on than to actually gain weight.

Losing or gaining weight drastically could also be risky to a person’s health, this is why what Jared Leto accomplished ought to be recognized.

Not only about weight, he also manages to present us a psychotic attitude and a naive mood at the same time. He’s good at playing a character that’s mentally and emotionally unstable.

Jared got the mannerism and the accent down to a T.

Nothing fascinating with the directing, but I like how the costume and the art direction. Lindsay Lohan actually looks kinda cute with her 1980s hairstyle and outfit.

What’s weird is that for a movie that lasts only one and a half hour, it sure feels like it goes on for too long.

I sure hope this one does for Jared Leto what Monster did for Charlize Theron.
