"Twilight at the end of a fiscal movie drought tunnel"
Now il be the first to admit.I was actually wrong about this movie after seeing the first trailer(Gasp!dun dun dun!)Seeing the cheesy actors with perfect hairstyles posing as gothic as they can realy didint tune me in. As i saw this as just another tween drama with vampires jus to change it up (somthing like the O.C with fangs)little did i realize i was pleasently corrected after the end credits of a teen drama that held my attention longer then five minutes.
Now make no mistake;this Is a teen drama in every sence of the word. From high school crushes to hanging out with the right crowd it became clear very early why there is such a huge fanbase of young teen girls.I watched this movie at the midnight showing with my wife, and i can safely say that the teen girl turnout for this movie could rival that of any star wars geek release.
The story begins with a young girl named Bella who moves in with her absent yet caring father.
After her initial introduction to the towspeople she begins her first day at high school where she meets the Cullens. a group of teens with perfect bone structure and nay a tan in sight. among these pale models is Edward. (the vamp hunk your daughters and girlfriends have been swooning over for the last few months) whom she begins a forbidon romance with.
Wheras this would have snooze written all over it. the plot is well scripted and the actors do a good job making you feel there emotion. The script is written with pure emotion and is relatable enough for most to enjoy. although the real star here is the actual directing.camera shots, over head angles and great pacing make the movies two and half hour fly right by with the speed of well... a vampire. Girls will swoon and awe at the romantic (and sometimes cheesy)lines and guys there is one awesome Vamp on vamp fight scene worth wating for towards the climax. so guys, if your girlfriend/wife wants you to take her to see a chick flick, this one would be the way to go.unless you prefer the lip singing of annoying disney teens in High school musical 3.Me, il stick with the vampires.
