"A classic "American" film. Denzel is better than ever. Crowe is at his best."

The film was particularly extraordinary. The movie, although it was based on a true story, had a well written script. Denzel Washington assumed the role so well, he could've been Frank Lucas himself. This film joins a list of the greatest gangster movies that include The Departed, The Untouchables, The Godfather series, Goodfellas, and Gangs Of New York.

I liked this movie too, despite that it felt a bit too slow paced for me. I saw the extended 172 minute cut of the film first, and have yet to watch the near 152 minute theatrical cut that's also on the DVD I have. I received it as a gift w/out a receipt. But I still like it though. I've got it on the side bar there.

Wow I'm quite shocked, we share a majority of the same views on movies, and yes this is one of the greats, especially having Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, reprising their roles as adversaries, the original being of course Virtuosity, another great.
