"Would Somebody Please Shoot This Franchise Dead!"
This movie feels like it's screaming bloody mary, begging for someone to shoot it dead and put it out of its misery. TRANSPORTER 3 is not only the worst in the franchise, it also goes to prove how awful a movie can be when thoughts are not put into the story and action sequences are done in the most unreasonable, ridiculous, far-fetched way possible. Granted, movies like this... usually have to be watched without thinking at all, I admit, but you can't help but wishing you were watching something else when watching TRANSPORTER 3. I respect Jason Statham for being true to the his genre calling, as an action movie star, but this is just downright disappointing.
There are many inconsistencies in this film and on top of that, I hate it when the villain has so much potential to be even more evil, and I believe Robert Knepper has the talent, but he's held back by his own character who comes off as incompetent instead of intimidating.
The fight choreography by Corey Yuen is a bit on the mild side. Yes, there are some decent moments when you can say 'ah, that kick right there, that one's pretty cool' but for the most part, impressive isn't even close to describing how it all goes down. It really could be more complicated, more challenging, more jaw-dropping and more entertaining but... it settles for average. Once again, the first two Transporter movies were animated and comical too so I kinda expected this one to be the same as well and I guarantee you,.. it is.
Plus, Corey Yuen was also the guy who made Statham's previous lame action movie, WAR,... that movie still owes me an apology
I sure hope this is the last installment because if it keeps going and continuing, then it's only a matter of time before it turns from a tough guy franchise into a laughing stock. I used to admire writer/producer Luc Besson (Nikita, Leon The Professional) but now that he's gotten himself involved with all three Transporter movies and responsible for creating the characters and the plots for all of them,.. I just don't know anymore.
And I'm not sure making the character Frank Martin break the rules/codes that he used to live by would go right with the remaining fans that this movie has left.
Ya know what I think,... I think this is another case of a certain number of people who want to make a movie just to steal whatever change left in our pocket. It's another case in the likes of Rush Hour 3. Nobody involved in the project gives a sh*t anymore, they're all just doing it for the money.
What I hate the most is their selection for the girl. Actress Natalya Rudakova is a f*ing joke. I can get past her freckles but her acting and the way she says her lines makes me wanna puke. She's got the word 'annoying' written all over her, They're trying to make her this sexy woman but she turns out to be anything but. Where is Olga Kurylenko when you need her?
By the way, the dialogue in this movie is so cheesy,... you can eat it with your spaghetti, see how cheesy that is?! Just imagine Jason Statham saying something like that and there you have TRANSPORTER 3.
Last but not least, we should still thank Statham for not selling out like Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson who goes off doing silly comedy and family movies. But if Statham keeps associating himself with gigs like TRANSPORTER 3 and its sequels God forbid, I'm afraid he might end up like Van Damme and Steven Seagal who started out on the big screen but eventually ended up in straight-to-DVD movies.
