Iron man has far surpassed the high expectations I had for it; in every way. The FX are phenomenal and because of this the Tony Stark/Iron Man character has been brought to life in a way that undoubtedly matches that of the comic books. However, even though the FX play a large part in showcasing "Iron Man" as a strong, not invincible but unstoppable in his attempts, man of steel who tries to put right the wrongs of the man inside the suit, it is the remarkable performance and captivating presence of Robert Downey Jr that breathes life into Tony Stark. He plays this part beautifully; adding humour in parts to show the characters flaws. This character is less than perfect, his lifestyle and career have led him to make choices which ultimately land him in trouble; so now he is not just trying to stop others from doing wrong but he is trying to correct his own mistakes and this is reflected perfectly in Downey Jr’s performance.

Every aspect of this film is spectacular; even the soundtrack, I just hope the sequel can match this and if the after credits clip is anything to go by then I’m hopeful it will be.
