An ingenious idea! An original concept all the way. You would love it. Except it wasn’t really watchable! The first time I even heard of this thing was with the whole Ethan Haas was right thing… anyone ells remember that? I still get mails from them :D (Ethan Haas thing was a stupid board game by the way). Anyways after the whole clearing the idea that it’s a JJ Abram thing and not Ethan Haas thing the whole Viral thing started… ingenious idea! If I ever make a movie I will so do the same thing… it could be about a panda bear getting raped by a red neck and it still would be making millions! That powerful is viral. Anyways the movie! I watched it yesterday. Before I watched it I asked around and read some reviews to see if this HYPE is even worth watching. So there were some good ones and some bad ones... after reading couple reviews I decided to watch this thing for myself. The Idea was great I loved it. In this digital world (with digital monsters … haha) with the whole youtube and mytube and wetube and stuff like that the idea that everyone would record something with their IPhone and camera phone is a common thing. So I giant monster attacks Manhattan. First of all why Manhattan of all the places! Every time they make a movie it’s in Manhattan especially when it’s a monster movie! Okay I don’t mind it is a beautiful city and I wish I lived there. I think I’m just jealous! Anyways this monster comes from nowhere and starts F*ing the city up… So some guy is about to leave and lucky him he gets stuck. while recording his goodbye party the monster makes his move. One thing is bothering me though… I was like talking about the whole digital world and high tech… but it looked like they had an old camera thing with a tape in it… come on people that’s sooo 20th century. Anyways so they hear a crazy boom thing and immediately put on the news… I was surprised that they didn’t say anything about terrorist attack! I was so expecting a line like “O my god!! They’re doing it again” … or “O my GOD!... damn sand people are here again”… enough said about that whole mess… not gonna start on that! Anyways so they didn’t say anything terroristy (lucky me). They go on the roof… wait I’m not going to tell the whole story! You just have to watch it. Anyways one point that I didn’t get.. Well there are so many points that I didn’t get but lets start with this one. Is that where ever that these guys went the freaking monster was there too… like I mean come on people is Manhattan that small or is the monster that big! And what the hell were those small creatures running around the whole city? Were they like the monsters little babies? Dangerous babies! Oh yeah! Don’t let those babies touch you cause if you do… you get bloated and like explode.. and not just explode turn into pudding then explode that all your bones and stuff splatter against wall like baby poo. The thing I don’t get is where the monster came from and who/what is this monster? It looked like an overgrown humany spider sea creature. And at the end of the movie did it die? I read somewhere that the monster didn’t die. So if it didn’t die does it continue F*ing Manhattan up?

What they could have done is at the beginning of the movie show a military base and like show them having a briefing about this monster /and that they are watching the movie of those guys. And like tell us a bit more about the monster. Like where it came from… or at least say that you don’t know where it came from or what it is but what it’s doing in Manhattan. what I did liked was the whole camera work idea… the whole idea that people recording such an event is like real.. It could be real.. Minus the monster thing! The idea! Ingenious… until I watched the movie then I remembered I always hated the shacky and out of focus stuff.. Like someone is filming my birthday and the guy doesn’t know how to hold a camera still… I’m just joking who would record my birthday… :‘(

Oh oh .. what I don’t get is the name of the movie. Cloverfield?! Really? Okay I get that you wan to give this thing a code name. But Cloverfield? Really?! when a destructive monster attacks you… you are not going to call it cloverfield!... come on people clovers? Those lucky things… Rainbows, gold and midgets in green suits? Remember? A monster attacking you is not luck! Or did I get this whole thing wrong?

This movie really wasnt what I expected. I knew that it would suck but that much?! and if anyone says this is a great movie!.. really dude?!what part of it.. the shacky camera work or the stupid plot? The special effects looked all shiney and awesome... I'm going to give you that.

Overall this movie is so not worth the whole hype around it. The idea is great (Another Godzilla movie!). but like going to the theatre and paying for it is so not worth it. I wan my money back! And I downloaded it… so you see my problem.

But do go watch it because apparently they are thinking of making another one. So if you like to understand the idea watch the first one before the second one comes out. Maybe then we get what the movie is about.
