Pure idiotic drivel featuring insipid dialogue with absolutely NO redeeming qualities whatsoever. There are no action set pieces to admire and not one quality performance in the cast. Will Smith's snotty and spoiled kid, Keanu and even the normally wonderful Jennifer Connelly all are terrible. The American military response and the alien motivation is as brain damaged as the structure of this film. The alien advanced agent loves and admires earthlings and Klaatu calls off the destruction after seeing a boy cry for his father? Way to do your homework, aliens. Maybe giant killer bug robot and his palls received a copy of Al Gore's exaggerated documentary and decided to take action based on that silly propaganda? You are forced to fill in the blanks yourself because what's on screen itself is simply terrible.
