"Stays in Vegas"
Ok, so, another romantic comedy, Ashton and Cameron...yeah. I really feel like the biggest failing of this flick was showing too many of the good jokes in the trailer. This film is by no means alone in this, as it seems like more and more trailers are ruining the theater-going experience.
Before we go any further, I feel the need to mention the obvious: This flick is formulaic, predictable, and cliche. Surprised? Neither will anyone else be. Unless you're a complete idiot. Don't be that guy. Seriously.
Now, that having been said, I actually enjoyed this film. I happen to like Ashton Kutcher, hate me if you must, he seems like a fun guy. I used to like Cameron Diaz, but my affection has faded over time. I DID, however, like her in this romcom. She was painfully annoying and stuck up to begin the flick, but became much more likable as she rediscovered herself as person. Ashton's failings as a person at the beginning were harder to dislike, but he did grow up and become that much nicer as the movie progressed.
If you're looking for a lot of depth, or an insanely funny comedy, I don't think this is it. But what it does do well is provide a good balance of entertainment. It is funny, it is entertaining, and it does have a lot of heart. Expect it to be what you should know that it is, and you won't be let down. Expect more than that...and you're one of those idiots I mentioned earlier.
