"*Updated* For those of you who still have questions about Cloverfield, this might clear some things up, or at least give you some reasoning behind things."

I have been reading a lot of other reviews about this movie, and frankly, I would like to answer some questions regarding the "shittyness" of this remarkable film.
1] If you were being chased around New York City by a *20-30+* story tall creature, that you had no clue where it came from, what it was, or what it was capable of doing, I'm sure you wouldn't hold the camera very still either.
2] As for the whole "Godzilla" reference... Godzilla was a mutated lizard... created (if by mistake) by humans... The people in this film had NO clue what this thing was or what it was capable of... so of course they're going to try the small artillary first... I'm sure they want to keep as much of downtown Manhattan, and its residence, in tact as they possibly can... when that doesn't do the trick... on to the next biggest thing... and so on and so forth... I'm sure that they would have eventually used some sort of atomic bomb, but unfortunately, the last two main characters were involved in some close-range explosion and the camera was lost, thus ending our ability to learn any more from them.
3] The last two characters were not necessarily killed... Yes, they were obviously very close to an explosion *that was meant to wipe out all of Manhattan* and lost the camera, but who's to say that, unlike the original camera man, they thought that the camera was not worth risking their lives over, and got the hell outta dodge? After all, Hud did die because he went back for the camera...
4] I don't know about any of you, but I didn't see anything fall from the sky in the last scene, but I wasn't exacly paying attention to that either... If I go see the movie again, and do see the thing fall from the sky... I will let y'all know... *I did see it again and was actually looking this time. Something does fall from the sky and land in the ocean in the last scene. If you are wondering where exactly it is, look to the left of the boat in the background but still on the right-hand side of the screen. You should at least see it hit the water...*
5] We see the girl that was bitten by a minion of the monster start to not feel so well, start bleeding from the eyes, and then behind a white tent, see her shadow, hear her scream, and then she explodes and her blood splatters everywhere... Well... did anyone notice that the soldier they brought in on a gurney, who was also bitten, had no stomach left to speak of and that you could see that her stomach expanded dramatically (probably the reason for her scream) before it exploded? I can't help but wonder if this is a reference to the way Aliens in the Alien and Alien vs. Predator movies reproduce. I mean come on... Those people ran like hell after she supposedly just "exploded" and they couldn't have been running from her body or her blood (just in case she was infectious) or else they wouldn't have brought that soldier back into the building... Isn't it possible that while the minion was on top of her in the subway, that it could have put an egg or something like that into her without her noticing? Ya know... Like maybe the bite was a distraction *not only to her but to the medics who would treat her for her wounds and probably treat her bite first, and then attribute her death to something in the saliva or something like that*? Maybe that's the point of the minions... to produce the real monsters by laying eggs in humans so that they can hatch? Perhaps the large monster was just a distraction to what was really going on.
6] And for the comments about the skakey camera work... come on! If you saw ANY previews, you can see that it is filmed from the peoples' point-of-view!
7] For the people who didn't like the fact that none of their questions were answered...
1 - This obviously isn't the type of movie that answers all of your questions, so get over it... It's from the people who wrote Lost... if that doesn't tell you how much they're not going to tell you, I don't know what will...
2 - There is talk about a sequel... so just calm down... if you hated it THAT much, but still want your questions answered... wait for the sequel... all of the Star Wars and Alien and Predator fans had to, so you can too...
3 - They call it Cloverfield because EVERY goverment mission has a name that doesn't necessarilly make sense. Cloverfield is the name of the mission to get to the bottom of what the monster is, where it came from, etc., etc.... And for anyone interested... Cloverfield is the name of a street near Bad Robot Productions' main office... Maybe they thought it was pretty?
8] My personal review - I thought it was an excellent piece of work! I would go back to see it any day of the week (if I had the money) just to get the suspense rolling again... I truely felt like I was a part of the excitement and was on a mission to rescue a friend, and get my ass the hell outta dodge! 5 Stars!
