"Family Friendly! Family Funny!"

There are movies out there that I never want to see. I’ve been stalling this one forever, doubting its quality in fear that if I watched it, not only would I waste my money but also my precious time. But I finally got around to watch COLLEGE ROAD TRIP and I gotta say… it ain’t that bad. Sure it has some cheesy moments but… for the most part, it’s a heart-warming family film with silliness that are actually funny.

A lot of actors want to do family movie because they say they want to make at least some movies that their children could watch. Johnny Depp once said that is the reason why he took a break from R-rated doing movies and chose to take on Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Some may not agree with me on this, but I think Martin Lawrence has picked his best family movie. He’s done some family friendly movies in the past, but this is by far my favorite.

No one can doubt Martin’s capability to make people laugh, his mannerism, the way he carry the dialogue and he successfully plays an overprotective father who needs to learn to let his daughter grow up on her own.

But get this, the best part about this movie is.. Donny Osmond.

His character will crack you up, I guarantee it! He plays this stereotypical white rich father who’s also searching for the best college for his daughter.

He and his daughter have something unique in common, they like to sing and dance when they have conversations… with anybody.

They’re like a happy go-lucky family but in the end he’s just as overprotective as any father would be.

Trust me, Donny Osmond maybe a weener but in this movie, he’s a hilarious weener.

The story is about knowing when it’s time for a change and change can be good sometimes.

It’s about family that stays a family and distance got no power to separate it. It’s about fatherhood and what it means to put your trust in somebody even when it scares you to do so.

I think it’s a good movie, it’s clean humor and for those of you who watch this and still think it sucks, then you’re probably cold as a stone and already too hypnotized by raunchy comedy movies available out there.

I agreed with all of the review except for the line:
"Trust me, Donny Osmond maybe a weener but in this movie, he's a hilarious weener." Donny is PLAYING a weener, and he does indeed to it hilariously. But in real life he's anything but. I've had the pleasure of being his neighbor in Utah and getting to know him through the years. He is totally cool, and if you don't recognise that, perhaps you too have been "cold as a stone and already too hypnotized by raunchy" cool people wannabes. Strength of character is cool. Talent is cool. Friendliness is cool. Donny has all of that in spades. The reason he can play a weener so well is he's making fun of the image some people have of him. It's not an accurate image, and he can laugh at it. Donny Osmond is a funny, talented, charming man who is comfortable in his own skin, and that's the coolest thing of all.
