"The very best of Scorsese and De Niro"
|
You can't go wrong with a combination of Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci (in another great supporting role) and the best crime director, Martin Scorsese.
Right from the start the movie creates a sense of something real, something tangible and not jsut something we are watching on screen. After all it is based on a true story.
Liotta gives the best performance of his career and it seems the role was made for him. Robert De Niro is better then he was in Once Upon A Time in America and brings his usual gangster swagger.
The plot is full of tense scenes and some true comedic highlights delivered by the ever reliable Pesci. For me, the most memorable scene of the whole movie involves Pesci shooting one the gangs small time members in the foot.
The second greatest gangster epic which delivers some of the most memorable scenes and lines in cinematic history.
