"Batman rises from the dead with the full force of a closely tossed Batarang"
Being a massive Batman fan nothing, not even the fugitive Joel Schumacher could stop me seeing this movie, and smack my ass and call me Catwoman if this isn't simply, not only the best Batman movie, but the best Superhero movie of all time.
Unlike past Batman movies the origins of Batman are explored in great detail with the inspired casting of the dark brooding emotionally troubled Cristian Bale firmly banishing the painful memory of Kilmer and Clooney to the back of the Batcave. The return to the menacing vision of Frank Millers idea of The Dark Knight adds a very real feeling to proceedings as opposed to Burtons goth and Schumachers camp ideas. With a cast and script to die for, Nolan keeps things moving along at a pace that will keep you gripped to the point you dont care that Batman takes nearly an hour to even appear! Hulk fans were spitting thunder at 45 mins which tells you a lot. The ending hints at a sequel featuring Batman's greatest nemesis and leaves us finding something to do with our lives until the Dark Knight sequel roars like the exaust of the Batmobile onto our screens.
Holy shit Batman! Must we wait?
A triumph! Truly Brilliant!
