"This was not as good as I thought it was going to be. THIS HAS ALOT OF SPOILERS ON IT!!!!"

I went to my local theater tonight to see Cloverfield I have been waiting for a while for this film since July. I saw trailers all over the place getting a good aspect of what the film was about( A Monster That Destroys NYC). "OK I get it" Don't have high expectations right?. I didn't so when I saw the opening of the film it was OK I get a just of who this guy Rob is, than you get an idea of his women who he loves but cant say it. Than off to the introduction to Rob's brother Josh and his women . OK Now we are off to the party, just like that because its all filmed on camera, the videographer has the right to cut and change scene's at his will. No story about the characters really other than Rob an, his girl. Which by the way whom he rushes off into the city that has been destroyed by this big thing. To save her and in the proses his buds go with him and try to get to her and take her our of her location. Once he arrives at the location she had called from her building is laying on another building "that's safe".So the guy taping says hey why don't we just climb up the building intact and claim over to the other side. The whole time this movie is being shot you think this guy is funny but he is an idiot. So he gets to her apartment and they save her from bleeding to death and now they have to go back the way they came. We are out side now and what happens to be there walking towards them you guessed it Mister smiley the giant creature.

I think they had a lot riding on this film but fell shy from hitting a home run. I know its fictional but if you are going to have a fiction based film shot in basic digital camera to be realistic. Be realistic about the event that take place. Like for one when you have a tone of freaking people on the Golden Gate Bridge and the main characters brother gets pummeled by the main creatures tail that's not believable. That the tail would fall directory on him. With thousands of people escaping on the bridge. Second if you have the the army shooting at this thing an "Being All That They Can Be" and this thing has not a scratch on him that's hard to believe also. Third how the hell did the damn creature home in on that helicopter under the blanket of smoke from the bombs and take it down. Did I mention our main characters where in it?. Also how the hell did they survive that fall?. Most helicopter crashes that happen even from 40 feet are terminal. I thought that was funny that they survived that fall from the height of the skyscraper's around them. Again with the creature and his funny way of showing up when you need him to, like when they survive the fall an the person shooting the whole film (Hud) gets his final shot. Hud pulls his buddy out of the shopper witch didn't blow up catch fire, or mangled. They all get out of the wreckage and than as our party gets ready to leave they start to run off Hud goes back to get the camera only to find out that the creature is right above him. Hmmmmm that's quiet a coincidence than he gets chomped on while his friends scream at the top of there lungs "NO Hud NO NO" he gets half eaten an he falls to the ground with the camera directly on him when he falls this is the funny part. Than his friends run up to him "Oh wait dident he just get chomped on by a huge creature?". Where the hell did the creature go?. They run up to there buddy get the camera and the creature is just sitting there looking at them like " Well I'm not hungry any more I'll let them go?. So they grab the camera and are running now to get away from the bombs that are going to drop on them. Now they hide under a little tiny bridge to survive the deadly attack on this monster. Well they just get Blown up by the army. But not before they say these sweet words to each other " I love you". SO now the movie takes us to a much nicer environment our 2 characters are sitting in a Farris wheel with them signing off with them say something into the camera that was this today was a good day" WTF was that ending?

So in conclusion to this review I really think if Hollywood is going to keep makeing these films they better get there shit together. Its funny though I have read a lot of reviews on this film an they liked it. I take films very seriously I look deeply into the films I view. I love movie's I love them so when I see mindless films being produced and written by people that had no purpose doing that. I get more an more angry with the film industry. A lot of people will disagree with me about what I wrote I am used to it. But There is a lot of people out there that have been involved in film and the production of film an those people will agree with me .
