I respect Downey's opinion too, but I don't agree with it.

Hey don't make Downey sound like a prick! He gave his opinion, and I respect it.

Isn't it possible that Downey said this out of spite? He'd have jumped at getting a major part in this film if it would have been offered.

Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. has certainly pissed away any possible part playing a DC comics character with his recent remarks...

This from an interview with down-under film news site Moviehole.net...


"My whole thing is that that I saw 'The Dark Knight'. I feel like I'm dumb because I feel like I don't get how many things that are so smart. It's like a Ferrari engine of storytelling and script writing and I'm like, 'That's not my idea of what I want to see in a movie.' I loved 'The Prestige' but didn't understand 'The Dark Knight'. Didn't get it, still can't tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character and in the end they need him to be a bad guy. I'm like, 'I get it. This is so high brow and so f--king smart, I clearly need a college education to understand this movie.' You know what? F-ck DC comics. That's all I have to say and that's where I'm really coming from."

Well, you can please all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time. There's no such thing as a film that EVERYONE likes, whether it's a box-office smash or not. That's a fact, so there can be no argument. Note though, I thought TDK was brilliant, and to be honest, that's a shit review. Sorry.

I mean come on this film is the real deal, and if Marvel is so good then how come The Dark Knight just stole Spider-Man 3's record and it's going to crush it's total box office numbers! "The Dark Knight" is a near flawless example of superhero cinema with marvelous performances, a top notch script, and direction that aims for a more adult audience...

Marvel is cool, but Marvel characters also where tight suits, some tighter than Batman's... And DC has been out way longer than Marvel
