DAMN!
That's all I can say.
This film is slick, superbly acted and well shot.
Bale and Crowe deliver AMAZINGLY in this film.
Behind the old-west stylization and all the elements you'd expect in a seriously excellent western, the characters in this film are rich and full and provide a serious framework to the rest of the elements of the film.
People say that "next to Unforgiven, this was the best western in the last 30 years...".
Bullshit.
This film is better than Unforgiven. The only downside is that it's been done before, so I think that takes a little of the steam out of it for people. Don't let that fool you, though.
This is one seriously great film.
